The late Robin Pell was involved with the Lake Placid Film Forum from its creation as an extremely pro-active board member of the Adirondack Film Society. Several years ago, an award was established in his name by his wife Anitra Pell, his goddaughter Helen Burnham and filmmaker Ruth Sergel. The award, designed to encourage and support emerging filmmakers from the Northeast, has most recently been presented to SUNY Purchase, the winning team of students in the 2009 Sleepless in Lake Placid 24-Hour Filmmaking Competition. The award will again be presented to the winning team of filmmaking students in the 2010 competition.
